Tournament Rules:

  • The tournament is a single-player game.
  • Every player is assigned red tokens.
  • 9 tokens of different colours will be placed at random cells.
  • Every player gets a limited time (12 seconds) to play a move.
  • Every player gets a fixed number (18) of moves.
  • How points are calculated:
    • 1 point for each cell moved by the player's token.
    • Points increase as per the number of cells climbed up a ladder & upon cutting a token.
    • Points will be subtracted equivalent to the number of points a token fell by upon reaching the head of a snake. For example, if a token has reached 65 points & falls to the 5th cell, the player’s score will reduce by 60 points.
  • Points for reaching home are multiplied by the current score:
    • 1st token reaches home = 2X points
    • 2nd token reaches home = 3X points
    • 3rd token reaches home = 4X points
    • Example: A player’s total score is 80 & their first token’s score individually is 60. The player rolls a 5 and the first reaches home.

      Their token’s score will be:

      60 + 5 = 65

      65 x 2 = 130

      Their total score will now be 80 + 130 = 210

  • A player will get an extra turn/move on rolling a 6, cutting a token, or if a token reaches home.
  • If a player misses 3 moves or leaves mid-game, the points they have accrued till then will count towards the scoreboard.
  • The player with the highest points wins the biggest share of the prize pool.
  • Some tournaments allow multiple entries.

Key Terms:

1. Token:

2. Cell:

The Power Ladders ends on how many cells the token has moved.

3. Home:

The finishing point of the game, or the last cell of the board is the Home cell. A player’s primary aim is to race their token to the Home cell within the stipulated number of moves.
